Sad news this evening as I discovered that the Chernobyl forest fires consumed the creepy holiday camp we saw when we visited in 2017. I wrote some words about it on Twitter. It looks like even Pripyat itself is under threat, which would be devastating. Visiting Chernobyl was one of the holidays that has stuck with me—I would almost say haunted me—and it's terrible that other people could be deprived of that experience.
Also today: I finally finished the first draft of the second 04-in-04 story; I actually had a really good time writing it as everything started coming together and I got into flow with it. I'll aim to edit it tomorrow or Wednesday, then I have to come up with something to write for story #3!
I played two rounds of Dords online with Pete, Matt, and Tim on either side of lunch, which was fun even if the UX could do with some work. For lunch I got to have the first harvest of my pea shoots! They were pretty tasty. I'll definitely grow some more when this batch is done (maybe two more sandwiches?)
I did some more work on my fork of the PyNode library this afternoon and evening. Mixing JavaScript and Python using C and C++… there's got to be a conference talk in there somewhere. Honestly, several. Now I just need to figure out how to get paid to do this sort of fun coding ;)
