Looking back at the first three months of 2023, it's quite apparent how burnt out I was getting at work, which culminated in me quitting my job at the end of March, despite having dropped to a 4-day week at the start of January. I did manage a few things though, most notably starting Roller Derby training, and working on STC: Reillustrated!( January 2023 )

I'm playing blog catch-up at the moment so the next few months will be brief. The latter half of 2022 had me finally catching covid, after a couple of years of avoiding it. It totally floored me, which certainly contributed to why I didn't have a chance to keep up with the blog.( August 2022 )

July was also a social month, though mostly from work trips and a visit to my parents. (At the work meetups, I had my nails painted, made some cyanotype prints, and tie-dyed a t-shirt!) I also visited Cambridge very briefly with Samathy and Lex to see Samathy playing in her first roller derby away game, and we also all went to see Joe Lycett's act in Nottingham (it was very good). My skating lessons also finished for the summer.( Roller Derby )
Writing this up, I realised what a social month this ended up being. Even without EMF (and I met up with loads of people there and they were all lovely) I saw loads of people both for The Burnt City as well as a general social catchups, including an outdoor skating session with Samathy I haven't even seperated out into a section here.( EMF Camp 2022 )

I didn't do a lot of noteworthy things in January, partly because of the low energy levels I've mentioned elsewhere, and partly because I was back going to skating lessons and open sessions, which have been very enjoyable but there's only so much I can say about them!( New skate wheels )

In May I had my first covid-19 vaccination, at the large King's Meadow Campus centre, which felt a little like going through airport security, except with a nurse and needle instead of the x-ray machines. I had Pfizer in my left arm, all done while still standing up! The rest of the month was a mixed bag of arts, crafts, gardening, and entertainment.( Vaccination )
