Daily update, Wednesday 2020-04-15

iguanaI made a start on story #3 of 04-in-04 today. I have a fairly strong idea for it though I'm starting to feel like a short creative writing course on structuring short stories might be useful for me as I worry that this batch are just going to end in in the form "a thing happened" rather than anything a bit more engaging. There's tiny bit of conflict in #1 and #2 which I think is useful in a story, but as far as other building blocks go, I'm probably coming up short.
At any rate, I felt more like writing this evening than editing, so #2 can wait for a bit.
My order from Homebase from two and a half weeks ago, with more planting stuff along with a couple of plumbing bits, arrived today—or rather something claiming to be it did. The packing slip matched my order but the box contained (I presume) someone else's order of decorating equipment. This is a bit annoying because I need to plant a bunch of things this weekend and I have no idea how I'm going to improvise at least a water tray for the dozen small pots I will be using.
Having slept badly the last two nights, I managed to do some exercise on the whirlijig this evening, so hopefully I'll get a fuller night's sleep tonight.
