August 2018
Thursday, 14 March 2019 19:44In August I attended Nine Worlds, a geek convention in London, for the second time. I've attended it once before and enjoyed it again this year. The highlights for me were attending an introductory swordfighting lesson which I got a lot out of; and seeing comedian Guy Kelly performing his act Letter of Last Resort. I also ticked off a personal achievement, and generally enjoyed myself.
September 2018
Thursday, 14 March 2019 19:49In September I attended PyCon UK for the third time. This time I submitted a talk, and it was accepted! So I did it, and it was scary, but went okay! Unlike last year I didn't take a break from work before PyCon, and it left me a little less able to cope with the crowds (or maybe just the stress of the talk), so I'll aim to add that back in before PyCon UK 2019. But I met up with lots of friends and had a good time anyway!
October 2018
Thursday, 14 March 2019 20:04October was quite busy due to proto-house-hunting, where I visited Brighton one weekend and Nottingham another weekend to see what they were like. I also went to see the singer Nerina Pallot at the Exeter Phoenix, visited Greenway House (better known as Agatha Christie's house) with Ems and her mum, and made Hallowe'en-themed cakes for, well, Hallowe'en.
